Government Guidelines

During the COVID pandemic, I will be following the Government advice on how to stay safe. Should this advice change (whether nationally or locally), this may result in short term changes to my practice. At all times, Government advice will supersede anything written on this page.

Things I’m doing to keep you safe

I have introduced a number of measures in order to provide a safe environment for you.

We will meet at the gate outside the counselling cabin
Counselling chairs have been set 2 meters apart, to allow for social distancing
After each session, all contact surfaces will be disinfected
I will no longer provide any drinks or tissues

In order to keep a safe environment, this is what I require from you:

Sanitise your hands upon entry
Do not touch the door handles, I will open the door for
Keep your belongings with you
You are welcome to bring your own drinks and tissues, but please take any rubbish away with you

Facilities

The toilets are in my house, which is separate to the Counselling Cabin. It is a communal bathroom, which is used by my family and I maintain it to ensure it is clean and as safe as it possibly can be. During this time I would prefer you not to use the facilities however, in an emergency it will be available to you.

Symptoms

In the event that either you or I (or anyone in our households) develop symptoms, you are not to attend the session in person. Where possible, the session will be changed to an online Zoom session and I will give you as much notice as possible in this case, and I would ask that you do the same.

Communication

Should you need to contact me at short notice, the best way is to call – 07818 978597. Less urgent enquiries can be emailed to carolineellisoncounselling@gmail.com. I will respond to your emails as quickly as possible.

Track and Trace

Should I test positive for coronavirus, I may have to disclose people whom I have had close contact with, to the NHS. If I am required to do so, I will provide your name and contact number however, no information about the nature of our contact will be provided.

Face-to-Face and Online Counselling

I offer Individual Counselling and Couples Therapy in-person and online. I will support you with kindness, compassion, empathy and understanding. Working collaboratively, I will provide a safe, confidential space for you to express and process your emotions. I work with adults and carers.

I have experience and work with a wide range of issues such as: anxiety, stress, overwhelm, bereavement, grief and loss, depression and low mood, family and relationship difficulties, building confidence and self-esteem, trauma, long term and life limiting illness, counselling for carers.

I have a special interest in counselling for carers, patients and family members of long term and life limiting illness such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Cancer.
